Williamstown Information
The home of Williams College, the Clark Art Institute, and the Williamstown Theatre Festival, Williamstown is the intellectual and cultural capital of the county. A classic, picturesque New England town, it is deservedly self-proclaimed the "Village Beautiful," with its broad, tree-lined streets, the town green and the Williams campus. However, with a population of 8,424, Williamstown is more than a sleepy village. It has a sizable police force and fire protection service, downtown shops and restaurants and access to Southern Berkshire County and neighboring Vermont via Routes 7 and 8, while Route 2 leads east and west.
