Tyringham Information Tyringham is a rural and residential town of 350 that is favored by second- and vacation-home owners, many of them prominent and wealthy. The character of the town has changed greatly over the centuries, as it shifted from an agricultural to manufacturing to high-end residential economy. A few working farms exist in the town alongside recreational areas such as Goose Pond, Hop Brook and Tyringham Cobble. The Cobble, a property of the Trustees of Reservations, includes a two-mile loop trail that runs to the summit of Cobble Hill, 400 feet above the valley floor. Several rock outcrops offer sweeping views of Tyringham Valley with Hop Brook and the village below.
