Lee Information Lee remains a classic New England mill town, with several working paper mills along the Housatonic River, which meanders through town. Lee’s Main Street, known for its small-town charm, is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Marble quarrying and a major retail outlet center fill out Lee’s business roster. With 5,985 residents, Lee is one of the more populous Berkshire towns, with most of its residents employed locally. Lee’s major arteries are Routes 7 and 20, and Lee is the main Mass Turnpike exit to the Berkshires.
